Virtual Production is the real-time fusion of digital and physical worlds and assets through the utilization of emerging technologies. Filmmakers can now interact with digital assets and processes in a manner similar to how they do so with live-action production. World capture, visualization (previs, techvis, postvis), performance capture (mocap, volumetric capture), Simul-cam (on-set visualization), and in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) are a few instances of virtual production. The trick to using this strategy effectively is selecting the appropriate tools to address production issues and empowering filmmakers without interfering with or distracting the crew from the creation process.
